The New Adventures of Nanoboy is an animated series created by Scrawl Studios Pte. Ltd in Singapore, the Media Development Authority of Singapore (now the Infocomm Media Development Authority), and Agogo Entertainment Limited in Hong Kong, with distribution by Cookie Jar Entertainment. The story centers on Oscar, a nine-year-old boy who, when confronting personal problems, transforms into the microscopic superhero Nanoboy. In this tiny form, he works to protect the Microcosmos from various microbe villains. The Nanosquad includes Oscar (voiced by Joe Murray), who can fly and has super strength; Issac Neuron (voiced by Hillary Blazer-Doyle), a field scientist without powers; and Corona Jane (voiced by Christina Sergeant), a reformed flu virus in a shape-shifting bodysuit. Allies include Oscar’s best friend Tim, his father Professor David Stein, his mother Dora, bossy schoolmate Vicky, his cousin Chuck, Commander Flag, Diva Farangitis, and Colonel Skeeter (also called Colonel Perry). Villains include Czar Zar, his evil sidekick Careena Payne (Corona Jane’s sister), Ferro the Magnetic Microbe Menace, mad scientist Mito, Count Bacula, Lacto, Billy the Spit, and Tony Verrero. In the United States, the series aired on Starz Kids & Family from 2008 to 2010 and on Vortexx in 2013. In Israel, it aired on Arutz HaYeladim. In the United Kingdom, Pop aired it from 2008 to 2011. In Asia-Pacific, Cartoon Network aired it in 2011. Tubi picked up only the first half. In South Africa, SABC 1 aired it from 2008 to 2013. On 27 July 2010, Mill Creek Entertainment released the first ten episodes on DVD in the US, including a bonus episode of World of Quest. On 2 September 2016, the complete series became available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
